Richard Logan is a 1982 graduate of Valliant High School. Shortly after graduating high school, he entered the United States Air Force, where he served on active duty for 6 years. Mr. Logan was stationed at Atlus AFB, in Altus, Oklahoma, and then finally at Eielson AFB, near Fairbanks, Alaska. While in the Air Force, he owned a t-shirt and uniform shop called “Logan's Logos,” located in the North Pole Mall.
In 1998, Mr. Logan graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he worked several years in the manufacturing industry as a production manager. Mr. Logan began teaching school in 2010 in Clarksville, Texas, as a 4th grade math teacher. The following year he came to Idabel as the 6th grade reading teacher and head boys basketball coach at the middle school. The following year, he was named Dean of Students and continued to coach the boys’ basketball teams.
In May 2015, Mr. Logan earned his Master’s Degree in Public School Administration, from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and was named Assistant Principal at Idabel Middle School, and continued to serve as the boys basketball coach. The 2016-2017 school year will start Mr. Logan’s 6th year at Idabel Middle School, where he will continue to serve as the Assistant Principal.
Mr. Logan is married to Dana Logan, the Director of the Idabel Housing Authority. He has five children, Sarah, Ben, Joe Clyde, Grace, and step-son Parker Baird. Mr. Logan also has two granddaughters, Ella and Harper, and a son-in-law, Donald Shaffer. The last member of the family, and certainly not the least, is Bruce, his German Shepard.
