IMS Presenting at OTA Conference

Idabel Public Schools is showing off across the state!

Recently the #ipswarriors had a couple of teams present at the Oklahoma Technology Association’s 2018 Encyclomedia Conference.

The Middle School presented their book club “The Time Trekkers” to a room full of state librarians and literacy experts. IMS Library-Media Specialist Julie Parnell, Counselor Cindy Bryant and Principal Laura Bullock explained how we started our book club that reads books throughout the year and then takes a summer field trip to visit the places they read about during the previous school year.

The #imswarriors presentation was well received and had several good questions about the program and how to start one.

The second #ipswarriors presentation was titled “The Ongoing Evolution of a Tech Driven School” and was lead by Instructional Coach Chris Gammon, Technology Director David White and Superintendent Brown.

This presentation focused on how we got started on our technology implementation and where we are now. We also discussed our future plans and strategies of how we plan on reaching our goals.

This presentation was very well received with several great compliments from across the state. The room was full of superintendents, IT Directors and Library Media Specialists from across the state.

One of the compliments was the presentation was “inspiring” and several contacts were made hoping to continue the conversation. The team was impressed with the response to this presentation.

Great things are happening in the Warrior Nation.

GO WARRIORS!
