Dear Idabel Public Schools Community, I am thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all! Our very own Idabel Lady Warriors have triumphed in their first-round game at the state basketball tournament. Their stellar performance has earned them a spot in the semi-finals, which will take place this Friday evening at 8:00 in Yukon. This is an incredible achievement, and we couldn't be prouder of our team. In light of this momentous occasion, I would like to announce that school will be dismissed on Friday. This decision is to ensure that all our supporters have ample time to travel and cheer on the Lady Warriors as they continue their journey in the tournament. Let's rally behind them and show our unwavering support! While we celebrate the success of our Lady Warriors, I also want to take a moment to recognize the hard work and dedication of our Idabel Warrior boys’ team. Although they faced a tough loss in their first-round game, they played with heart and determination until the very end. They have had an outstanding season, and their efforts should be commended. Thank you to all our athletes, coaches, staff, and supporters for your dedication and commitment to Idabel Public Schools athletics. Let's continue to show our Warrior pride as we cheer on our teams and celebrate their achievements. More information will follow later this week. Go Lady Warriors! Go Idabel! February 21, 2024 Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members, As you may be aware, Idabel has been chosen as the host site for the Regional Basketball Tournament, a prestigious honor reflecting the exceptional performance of both our Girls and Boys Teams this year. I encourage each of you to join us in supporting our teams as they strive for victory on their journey to the state tournament. As we approach this exciting event for our community, I wanted to provide some clarification and direction regarding our plans for Friday, February 23rd. We will have In-Person School on Friday morning. All classes will convene during the morning hours for in-person instruction at the regular start time for each campus. Morning bus routes will run as normal. However, we will have Virtual School in the Afternoon. Google Classroom assignments will be assigned for the afternoon hours, accompanied by avenues for student-teacher communication. Teachers will be available on campus during regular school hours to respond to questions students may have as they work on their assignments. Principals will provide guidance on attendance procedures for the afternoon virtual session. There are some changes to the breakfast and lunch schedules. Breakfast will be served as usual in the morning at every campus; however, there will be no second breakfast at the high school. However, lunch times will be adjusted. Your principals will provide specific directions regarding lunch schedules for each building. Dismissal bus routes will begin at 11:15 a.m. It is estimated that it will take approximately 15 minutes for all bus routes to complete their designated pick up of students at each campus before beginning the route to take the students to their normal afternoon bus stops. School dismissal is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., with the aim of ensuring that all individuals are off the campuses before 11:45 a.m. Principals will provide detailed guidance concerning car rider arrangements and individual departure procedures from the campuses. If you have any additional questions or require further clarification, I encourage you to reach out to your respective principals. They will be more than happy to assist you and address any concerns you may have. In conclusion, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your continued support and cooperation as we prepare for this exciting event. Let us come together as a community to cheer on our talented Warriors and Lady Warriors and celebrate their achievements. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Sincerely, Dr. Alan Bryant Superintendent Idabel Public Schools

This is a reminder that if ANY group (radio station, newspaper, parents, booster club, students, etc) would like to video live stream any part of an OSSAA playoff event during the 2023-24 school year, regardless of sport or length, they will need to fill out a video live streaming playoff request form. Regardless of where the video live stream is hosted (school website, NFHS Network, radio station website, newspaper website, social media, Facebook, YouTube, Periscope, Twitter, GameChanger, etc), the form must be filled out and approved before the video live stream is allowed. You can find the form on the OSSAA website under the MEDIA tab and on the sport specific page. A new form needs to be filled out for each round of the playoffs. This information is for the coaches, local media, booster clubs or fans that might be interested in video live streaming so there is no confusion. A complete list of approved video live streams for the Class 4A-3A-2A Basketball District Tournaments can be found on the OSSAA website on the Basketball page. No other video live streams will be allowed. There is a NOON deadline on Mondays for submitting this form. The NFHS Network may be doing some games exclusively each week. Any request made after the Monday noon deadline is not guaranteed of getting processed. Fans, ONLY watch games from the approved list on the OSSAA website as some fans are getting scammed by facebook posts that are not legit.
