Important Update for Idabel Public School Families
We want to make you aware of a serious situation that could affect many of our students: funding for our After School Expanded Learning Program (ABC/C.A.R.E) in all schools, including Idabel Public Schools, is in jeopardy of immediate termination.
Normally, when priorities shift between presidential administrations, existing grant contracts are allowed to finish before changes are made. However, this time is different. The federal government is considering ending the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant in the middle of the current grant cycle, leaving districts like ours with little to no time to plan or secure alternative funding.
This unexpected move would eliminate over $1 million in funding that supports after-school programs right here in our community - programs that provide academic support, enrichment, meals, and a safe place for students after school.
If we lose this funding, it likely means the end of after-school programming in Idabel Public Schools.
How You Can Help: Contact Your Congressman
Let U.S. Representative Josh Brecheen know how important this funding is to your child and family. Ask him to intervene and support the continuation of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant.

Many enrollment applications have been started but not completed. Make sure you log into your student's Sylogist account and verify that all enrollment sections have been completed!
Right now only 1/3 of the students have been enrolled. If you are not enrolled, you will not be able to get a schedule and go to classes until you've done so.

IMS Summer School visited the Oklahoma Aquarium today in Jenks!
Due to an issue with the GPS and some construction on the turnpike, Summer School's updated ETA is 4:30 at the middle school.
Idabel Middle School Summer School (4th through 8 th grade) should return from the aquarium to ms by 4 pm. Please share with parents who may not be on Facebook.
👔👩⚕️ Career Day Highlights! 👷♂️📚 Our 4th–7th grade Career Development class had a fantastic time learning about the world of work thanks to some amazing local business professionals who visited our school! 💬✨ Students took part in fun and eye-opening activities, including Occupation Charades, where they guessed different jobs based on clues, and a Reality Fair, where they had to budget for real-life expenses like rent, groceries, and transportation. 🏠🛒🚗 These activities gave students a glimpse into the responsibilities of adulthood and the wide range of career paths available to them. 🌟 A huge THANK YOU to the Brad and Jia with Choctaw Electric Company, who shared their stories and inspired our students to think about their futures. Your time and insights made a lasting impact! 👏

IMS CHEER DID IT AGAIN! ❤️🖤
So incredibly proud to announce that IMS Cheer took home 1st place in the Cheer/Spirit Routine Category at UCA Cheer Camp today at OU! That's FOUR years in a row our program has earned first-place hardware at camp, setting and maintaining an incredible standard for every squad that comes through.
But wait, there's more! A huge shoutout to Boston Clark, our newest All-American Cheerleader! Boston competed against over 100 non-varsity cheerleaders (including some high school juniors!) and was one of only 18 selected for this elite title. Absolutely phenomenal!
THERE WILL BE A PHYSICAL CLINIC AT IMS TODAY (5/29) FROM 12:00-1:00 PM. THE COST IS $10. REMEMBER, IF YOUR STUDENT PLANS TO PLAY ANY SPORT, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A SPORTS PHYSICAL ON FILE AT THE SCHOOL BEFORE THEY CAN SUIT UP FOR ANY PRACTICES OR GAMES.
